It was so special to photograph Peter getting ready with his parents and his groomsmen in is room and waiting for Charla to arrive for their first look. If your getting ready locations are separate from the ceremony and reception venue, it’s a great idea to include a second shooter so we can be present for each person’s wedding morning moments. Driving (or running) between hotels or even hotel rooms eats a lot of important time before first looks or portraits. Having two photographers present when getting ready at different destinations is one of the few moments I recommend having a second photographer.
On top of the sentimental surprises, we were all surprised by the wild wind that we had all weekend. Charla was a little worried about the weather conditions, but I knew this wind would bring a sense of adventure to their wedding photos. It’s totally understandable to worry about the direction and strength of the wind. No one wants their hair messed up for their wedding day! But hiring the right photographer can ensure your photos go from hot mess to hot damn!
The ceremony was gorgeous and the wind was strong as Charla and Peter said “I Do” under a beautiful blue Hawaii sky on the beach fronting the Mauna Lani Auberge Resort. These two are just full of positive energy; shooting them was such a blast! Always smiling and up for anything, these two showed us not just a great love but a great friendship.
